To ensure your planned work will be accepted, please read over the following guidance note before continuing with your request:

Gas Fires

  1. Contractor’s specification must be submitted with your application. The work must be carried out by the contractor whose details you give.

  2. All work must be carried out by a suitably qualified tradesman, i.e. Gas Safe registered. Please include their company name and registration number on the application form.

  3. You must send us the Landlords certificate or equivalent on completing the work.

  4. VHS will take on responsibility for the system maintenance 12 months after installation.

  5. The tenant will be liable for any work identified at the first service.

 

REMOVAL OF GAS FIRES

  1. All work must be carried out by a suitably qualified tradesman, i.e. Gas Safe registered. Please include their company name and registration number on the application form.

  2. You will be responsible for any decoration needed due to the fire’s removal; this includes re-building the fire opening if required.

  3. If the fire is to be removed from a chimney breast wall, a vent must be installed or maintained where there is an opening in the chimney.
